When coming up with a definition of what Design is it's important to note that effectively, everything has been designed.
The building your in, the chair you're sitting in, the computer your using this website, all have been designed using the Design Cycle as a process of defining the problem, conceiving a solution, refining the design and producing a product.
Even evolution is a form of design where the product is being continually refined and developed.
Look around you, can you point out anything that hasn't been designed?

Visual Communication
Visual Communication as the name suggests is communication through visual aid and is described as the conveyance of ideas and information in forms that can be read or looked upon. Visual communication solely relies on vision, and is primarily presented or expressed with two dimensional images, it includes: signs, typography, drawing, graphic design, illustration, colour and electronic resources. It also explores the idea that a visual message accompanying text has a greater power to inform, educate, or persuade a person or audience.

Product Design
Product Design is concerned with the efficient and effective generation and development of ideas through a process that leads to new products.
